Community Information

Welcome! The following information is provided to artists interested in exhibiting at the Martucci Gallery. We hope you find it a helpful resource. Please feel free to call us with any questions at (914) 591-7840.

The Martucci Gallery is located in the historic Burnham Building on the banks of the Hudson River in Irvington, New York. The Libary Exhibition committee is happy to review applications on an ongoing basis. Please review our policy.

The gallery features the Arakawa hanging system which has an ample amount of guy wires and hooks for mounting works. The wires are attached to a frame fixed to the top of the wall. Wires hang from it and these wires have attached hooks, the position of which can be adjusted to accommodate desired heights. Each hook can support up to 40 lbs. At this point, we do not have pedestals so the gallery can only accommodate wall art.

Please note that the gallery is lined with linen panels which measure 30-47.5" wide and all of which measure 56" high. This restricts to a degree the size of the pieces that can be displayed. Below is a schematic of the gallery as well as a list of the panel widths in relation to where they are hung.

There is a table located at the front of the gallery for displaying any materials and a guest book. Artists are welcome to hold opening receptions; however, if you wish to have a reception, you will need to complete an application for use of the program room and to call Library Director Pamela Strachan at (914)591-7840 to schedule the reception date and time.

Exhibits are typically solo exhibitions and run a month long, beginning on the first of a given month and ending the last day. Joint exhibits may be scheduled subject to Exhibition Committee approval. Please be advised that Library staff is not available to help mount exhibits. There is also a free standing display board for hanging additional materials. It is not intended to sustain weights greater than an unframed poster but can be used to display fliers or additional informative materials.
